Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has started selling packaged drinking water under the brand name of ‘Jal’.

Gujarat Chief Minister today launched ‘Jal’ packaged drinking water in a function held on the sidelines of Ahmedabad National Book Fair.

As per an announcement made during the launch, Rs 200 ml bottle will be sold for Rs 5 while 500 ml bottle for Rs 7. The price of 1 liter water bottle will be Rs 10 while 20 litre water jar Rs 20.

A 2,000 liter per hour capacity packaged drinking water plant has been set up at a cost of Rs 1.41 crore for ‘Jal’ brand packaged water at Kotarpur.
