5 girls of Sal Engineering & Technical Institute injured in chemical blast in Lab

Ahmedabad: At least five girl students of a private engineering college situated on Sola Bhadaj Road in the city today sustained burn injuries owing to a blast in the container of a chemical in its chemistry laboratory.
Police said that the five girls identified as Maheshwari Kapopar, Vidhi Patel, Mansi Patel, Vibhuti Bhatt and Twinkle Contractor, all students of Sal Engineering & Technical Institute were in the chemistry lab of the institute this morning for practical classes when the blast occurred.
All the five girls with burn injuries were admitted to the Sal Hopital, run by the same group that runs the institute.
Police said that the matter was under investigation.
