Ahmedabad: Almost 12 days after the arrest of a Nigerian national with drugs worth Rs 3.5 crores from Goa bound Rajdhani express at Vadodara railway station, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) nabbed a Kenyan national with drugs worth around 6 crores from Mumbai bound Garib Rath express at Ahmedabad railway station past midnight last night.
NCB Zonal Director Hari Om Gandhi today said that based on a tip off the Kenyan national identified as John was nabbed from a coach in the 12215 Delhi Sarai Rohilla- Bandra Terminus Garib Rath express at Ahmedabad railway station at around 0130 am. Concealed Cocaine and Amphetamine (around 700 gms of each), worth around Rs 6 crores was found in his possession.
He was being interrogated. The Kenyan passport found in his possession was also being verified. The possibility of his being a member of Nigerian drug racket and using a fake Kenyan passport to deceive the police can’t be ruled out.
Earlier on June 9, a team of NCB had nabbed a Nigerian national from a Goa bound Rajdhani Express train at Vadodara station in Gujarat with various drugs including Cocaine, Amphetamine and Ecstasy tablets worth over Rs 3.5 crores.
