Bonanza for Vidya Sahayaks in Gujarat, govt. increases fixed pay by over 70%

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has decided to increase the fixed pay of over 21300 Vidya Sahayaks by over 70 % from the retrospective effect of February 1, 2017.
Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister Nitin Patel today informed this.
The current fixed pay of the Vidya Sahayk’s associated with the district and city education committees at Rs 11500 has been increased to Rs 19950.
Patel said that this decision would put an additional annual burden of over Rs 200 crores on the state exchequer. There were a total of 21363 Vidya Sahaks in the state.
