10 new GIDC for small industries and other announcements by Vijay Rupni on Independence Day

Vadodara: While speaking at Independence day function at Vadodara today morning, Gujarat Chief Minister in his address made several announcements:
– The government will set up ten new Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation(GIDC) estates for small industries in plug and produce model.
– When a Sagar Khedut (fisherman) dies in sea, it takes very long time to find out his dead body. If dead body is not found, he is declared dead only after seven years, and in the meantime his family doesn’t get any help because the fisherman is not declared dead on paper. The government has therefore decided to extend Rs 2 lakh assistance to his family even if the dead body is not found in one year period. This assistance will be given through Chief Minister’s fund.
– The government has already started distributing tablets to youths in first year of college/polytechnics after standard 12th. The government will make government college campuses and university wi-fi free zones so that the students can emerge as global students and connect to the world.
– The government will extend Rs 25/litre assistance to small fishermen who at present get monthly 35 litre Public Distribution System(PDS) quota of kerosene in limit of 150 litre/month.
– The government would launch public private partnership(PPP) model dredging scheme for fishing ports dredging scheme announcement. Maintenance and drezing work will be done through public partnership.
