7 dead in 2 incidents of drowning in Gujarat

Rajkot/Navsari:
At least 7 people died in two separate incidents of drowning in Rajkot and Navsari districts.
5 people from Surat reportedly drowned in sea near Ubharat in Navsari. They drowned in a failed attempt to save one another after one of them was first carried away by a strong current while they were bathing. Bodies of 2 of them have been recovered.
In yet another incident, 2 brothers drowned and died in a Bileshwar lake near Borakotda village in Gondal taluka of Rajkot. The deceased identified as Hiren and Chirag, sons of Laxman Sojitra, resident of Raiyaninagar in Gondal, had gone to take a bath in the lake.
