Local body by-polls win shows that public in Gujarat was with BJP, will win assembly polls convincingly: Mandaviya

Gandhinagar:
Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya today said that the convincing win of his party in the local body by-polls just before the assembly elections shows the BJP-sided ‘mood of public’ in Gujarat.
He also said that it could be seen as an small experiment of sorts which clearly indicates that BJP would also see a spectacular victory in the assembly election.
‘See Narendrabhai (Modi) with his rule in Gujarat and at the center has shown that people were only concerned about development and good-governance. BJP has increased its tally to six from earlier two during the by-poll on the eight seats. It shows that the mood of public was with BJP. We would also win the assembly election convincingly,’ he said.
To a query regarding Rahul Gandhi’s Gujarat visit, Mandaviya said, ‘It is a democracy and in such a set up every one was free to campaign and visit places but one thing should be kept in mind that nothing should be done which hurts the pride of Gujarat.’
‘Laughing at development of Gujarat was not a good thing. In fact the development was owing to the participation of the 6.5 crore people of the state and if some one laughs at it he is certainly insulting the people of Gujarat. It should be immediately stopped,’ he said.
