Rahul following Congress’ policy of ‘speak a lie and speak it loud’ in Gujarat: Javdekar
November 12, 2017
Ahmedabad;
Union Minister and senior BJP leader Prakash Javdekar today said that Congress and its vice president Rahul Gandhi were following the party’s policy of ‘speak a lie and speak it loud’ during their poll campaign in Gujarat.
Javdekar during his interaction with newsmen in Chandlodiya area of the city (where he participated in door to door campaign of BJP as part of Gujarat Gaurav Mahasampark Abhiaya) and later during his press conference took a strong dig at Rahul regarding his allegations including the ones about Gujarat being the most corrupt state in India and PM Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah controlling the media.
The BJP leader said that by speaking loudly a lie did not become a truth but Congress was following its policy of ‘speak a lie and speak it loud’ in Gujarat.
‘Congress has become synonyms with Corruption. As is the case with Karnataka government, the 10 years of UPA rule was also full of scams. 2G, CWG and even Jijaji (Robert Vadra) scams happened in their regime. But in the 3 and a half years of BJP rule the opposition could not level even a single charge of corruption on any of the ministers of the Modi government,’ he said.
‘Congress which by imposing emergency had tried to end the freedom of media and even the democracy in June 1975 was now alleging that BJP was controlling media. How bizarre that they now talk about freedom of media. My father was a journalist at the time of emergency and I vividly recall him coming back from the newspaper office on the day of imposition of emergency and informing us that police entered the editorial section and scrutinized the news items,’ he said.
He said that Congress had agreed with all the decisions about implementation of GST and now was speaking otherwise. He also questioned Rahul’s demand of one slab GST saying did it mean that all the items should be taxed at a uniform rate of 18% be it in the no tax, 5%, 12% slab.
Javdekar also reiterated that it was not development which has gone mad in Gujarat but in fact Congress party has lost senses. ‘There is development in Gujarat but the people on the lines of ‘Ye Dil Mange More’ want more of it,’ he said adding that in the Gujarat election it was a contest between development vs dynastic rule.
On Rahul’s questioning the efficacy of Narmada project, the BJP leader said he wanted to counter question five things to the Congress and former PM Manmohan Singh. He said why congress delayed permissions for it for years.
