Rahul fires salvo of ‘repeated’ allegations against BJP and Modi in Gujarat again, empty chairs witnessed in Dalit event

Porbandar/Sanand/Ahmedabad:

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today arrived on yet another visit to poll bound Gujarat and fired the salvo of repeated allegations against BJP and PM Narendra Modi during his various events in Porbandar, Nani Devati village near Sanand and Ahmedabad.

Some of his speeches were almost the carbon copy of the earlier ones barring a few changes and even the ones he had delivered during his meeting in Gujarat in recent times.

In his first meeting at Porbandar apart from the repeated allegations on demonetization, GST, unemployment, alleged poor plight of education and health-care sector and its privatization and so called industrialist friendly attitude of BJP he promised a separate ministry for fishermen community on return of Congress to power at center. He started the very first address with the mention of his Nano story which he kept on repeating in other events as well.
He also alleged that government was handing over all the ports to big Industrialists and they were responsible for pollution of the sea compelling the fishermen to go farther from shore for a good catch.
Rahul in the event organized for fishermen community at Nava Bandar also said that Congress after winning the assembly polls this year would ensure that the echo of people’s voice was heard in the assembly and its door along with that of CM’s residence remained open for commoners.

Later addressing a thinly attended meeting of Dalit community in Nani Devati village near Sanand he alleged that BJP was not allowing the winter session of the parliament in time to avoid discussions on issues like the company of Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah and Rafael deal in the time of Gujarat election. He said that he was also willing to raise these two issues along with Dokalam issue in the house.

He also alleged that vibrant Gujarat summit was beneficial only to five to 10 big industrialists. Many of the chairs during the event remained empty during the event during which a 125×83.3ft dimension giant tricolor was handed over to him by the Dalit Shakti Kendra. The flag weighing 240 kg was allegedly earlier not physically accepted by Gujarat CM in August this year citing lack of space to keep it.

Taking a jibe at it Rahul said that he would readily accept even a 50 thousand kg and 15 km long tricolor even if he had just an inch of space with him because it was a national flag and he had enough space for it in his heart unlike Modi ji and Rupani ji who were willing to give any amount of space to a few Industrialists but don’t have a little space in the office for the national flag. In an attempt to woo Dalit voters he also raised the issues of Rohit Vemula suicide case and Una issues.

He later interacted with doctors and small pharma companies at Tagore hall in Ahmedabad first and then with academicians in Mangal Pande hall in East Ahmedabad during which also he repeated most of the points of his earlier speeches.

Addressing a public meeting in Patidar dominant Nikol area of the city with an eye on his attempt to consolidate a caste equation in his party’s favour, he chanted the Jai Sardar slogan to being his address. Earlier in the Sanand Dalit meeting he had chanted Jai Bhim in similar manner.

In Nikol address also he repeated many of his allegations and also took a dig at the magician led campaign of BJP in Gujarat election. He also raised the issue of the winter session and Jay shah’s company and Rafael deal during his meeting.

Earlier Rahul had arrived at Porbandar airport this morning and went to Kirti Mandir, the birth place and ancestral house of Mahatma Gandhi to begin his two day visit.
Tomorrow, Rahul will visit Gandhinagar, Arvalli, Mahisagar and Dahod districts, prior to which he will visit the Ahmedabad home of Congress MP Irshad Baig Mirza who recently passed away in Modasa.

Rahul will be welcomed in Dahegam and will participate in corner meeting in Bayad assembly constituency of Aravalli district. He will hold meetings in Lunawada assembly seat area and Santrampur area of Mahisagar. He will also hold meetings at Fatehpura and Jhalod in Dahod district.

The congress leader will leave for Delhi tomorrow late evening from Vadodara. Notably, Rahul has made over half a dozen Gujarat visits in last 3 months including four legs of his navsarjan Gujarat yatra.
