Congress accepts the verdict of people of Gujarat: Solanki after BJP’s win

Ahmedabad:

Gujarat Congress President and former Minister Bharatsinh Solanki today said that his party accepts the verdict of the people of Gujarat.

Talking to newsmen here after the sixth consecutive win of BJP in Gujarat assembly polls Solanki said that he accepts the results as the verdict of the people.

He also thanked the people of Gujarat for their support to the party which has increased its tally considerably.

Solanki claimed that BJP talked about winning 151 seats this time around but it was in fact the weakest majority of the party in the state so far. Many of its big leaders and several ministers have also lost. Many of the Congress MLAs who had joined BJP have also faced defeat.

He said that though he has full faith in the election commission yet people and some of the leaders were raising the issues regarding tampering in EVMs and the commission must look in to it.
