Major Rajput organizations of Gujarat decide unanimously to withdraw Bandh call tomorrow in Gujarat

Gandhinagar:

Three of the senior BJP leaders of Rajput community led by Education Minister Bhupendra Chudasama held a meeting with representatives of various outfits of the community here this evening in which a decision to not to support the bandh call of tomorrow against release of movie Padmawat was ‘unanimously’ taken.

The meeting held at the circuit house here in presence of MoS home Pradipsinh Jadeja, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) chairman Balwantsinh Rajput was attended by representatives of various Rajput outfits including Karni Sena, Rashtirya Karni Sena, Mahakal Sena, Akhil Gujarat Yuva Sangh, Surya Sena, Rajput Vidya Sabha and Gujarat Kshatriya Sabha.

Addressing a press conference after it Chudasama said that it was decided with consensus to not to support the bandh.

He said that respecting the sentiments of the Rajput and entire Hindu community the Gujarat government had banned the movie twice and despite the lifting of the ban by the apex court the government was with the sentiments of the community.

‘As the cinema hall owners in Gujarat have taken a decision to not to show the movie despite the court order, there was no point in any protest against it and calling a bandh tommorow,’ he said.

He said that he and the other leaders of the community condemn the violence in the name of anti-Padmawat protests which was a conspiracy to defame the community.

To a query he said that not only the Rajput community but the whole Hindu community was against the attempt to distort the historical facts for making a movie.

Karni Sena’s Gujarat president Raj Shekhavat said, the purpose is solved with no screening of film statewide, therefore there will be no bandh in Gujarat toomorrow.
