Fine on tukda land to be linked to Jantri rate: Gujarat Assembly passes bill
February 27, 2018
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Assembly today passed an amendment bill, linking the fine on divided or transferred land to Jantri rate.
In case of division of agricultural land, the owner of the land attracts fine. However the amount of fine is decided as per the market value of the land. In order to make the process of selling and purchase of divided land easier and smoother, the bill proposes to link the amount of fine to prevalent Jantri rate of the land instead of its market rate.
The bill was moved by Revenue minister Kaushik Patel. The bill was passed with majority.
