Gujarat Assembly passes Panchayat amendment bill 2018

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Assembly today passed Gujarat Panchayat(Sudhara) Vidheyak 2018 with majority.
At present fund for the needs of Gram Panchayat can be withdrawn through joint signatures of the secretary of panchayat and panchayat sarpanch or a member authorized by panchayat.
The amendment bill proposes that joint signature of only sarpanch and secretary will be valid.
Signature of a member authorized by panchayat will have no role to play anymore when it comes to withdrawal of money.
Minister of State for Panchayat, Jaydrathsinh Parmar moved this bill which was passed through majority.
