Suspended BJP councillor, husband sent to jail in Surat

Surat: Suspended BJP Councillor Mina Rathod and her husband are sent to judicial custody(jail) in Rs 5 lakh bribe case after their remands are over.
Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) sleuths from Navsari had arrested Rathods for receiving Rs 5 lakh bribe from a contractor over construction in Godadara area. The deal was about allowing the construction and withdrawal of related RTI(Right to Information) application. The court had sent Rathods to three-day remands.
BJP had announced suspension of Mina Rathod after ACB trap. Survey of assets of Rathods is underway by police.
