Congress gets president posts in Lakhani and Diyodar taluka panchayats after lottery draw, BJP wins in Dhanera

Congress today got the president posts in both Lakhani and Diyodar Talukas Panchayats of Banaskantha district where the results were a tie between BJP and Congress during the local body polls earlier this month.

BJP won the president and vice president election in Dhanera taluka where the result was mixed.

Results for president and vice president posts for Lakhani and Diyodar were decided by draw by lot or lottery system in which Chitralekha K Vaghela become president of Diyodar taluka panchayat while the vice president post was also given to Congress.

In Lakhani Congress’ Mahesh Dave become president in similar manner while
Gangaben of BJP got the vice president post.

However in Dhanera BJP won the election for both the posts and Dakshaben Chaudhary was elected as president while Hathibhai Makwana was elected vice president, Banaskantha BJP general secretary Amrutbhai Dave said.

Dave said that of the 14 taluka panchayats in the district now 7 were led by Congress while BJP in 6. In one ie Lakhani the president was of Congress while the vice president was of BJP.
