Gandhinagar:
Reiterating that the state government has not fixed any provisional fee for self financed schools till the final hearing of the related matter in the Supreme Court, CM Vijay Rupani today urged the guardians of students to have patience for some more time as the government would make the school operators refund the excess fee taken by them for both 2017-18 and 2018-19.
Talking to newsmen here Rupani said that the final verdict in the matter by the SC would be announced in the first week of May.
‘I urge the guardians to have patience till then. The school operators had faced defeat in the matter in the High Court and have approached Supreme Court. Let the final verdict come and the government would make them refund the excess fees taken by them,’ he said.
Rupani said that as the legal procedure was on, the guardians should show patience for some more time.
He also said that even though several schools have not approached FRC, their final fees would also be fixed by the government only.
Earlier Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama today had hit out at the ‘fake’ guardians for trying to create misunderstanding on the issue.
Notably the fee structure under the Gujarat Self-Financed Schools (Regulation of Fees) Act, 2017 was being heard by the Supreme Court.
The government had in February after the apex court instruction proposed the new maximum annual fees limit of Rs 15000 for pre-primary and Primary Rs 25000 for secondary and Rs 30000 for higher secondary level.
