Controversial CA Tehmul Shethna arrested

Controversial CA Tehmul Shethna, who had come to limelight in Rs 13860 crore false IT declaration case of Mahesh Shah here, has been arrested by the city police in connection with a case of alleged fraudulent withdrawal of a trust money.

A police official today said that Shethna who was absconding since long was wanted in two cases. He had returned in the city yesterday in connection with March closure and was caught.

He had fraudulently withdrawn money from the bank account of a trust of which he was CA with the help of fake signature. Trustee Shivangi A Panchal had lodged a case in December last year in Navarangpura police station. Another such case against him was also lodged his ex-wife.

Notably, the IT had also conducted raids on his office during the dramatic incidnet of declaratin of Shah. His role in the whole incident which kept the IT sleuths puzzled for long was also under scanner.
