NRI nabbed from Bhuj Airport with banned Satellite phone soon before boarding flight

An NRI settled in US was arrested from Bhuj Airport here today on recovery of a banned satellite phone from his luggage.
PI of A -division M N Chauhan said that the model 9597 of Iridium Satellite phone was found in the luggage of Navinchand Dimond (59), a native of Gujarat who was now settled in the US, during the security check by CISF on the airport soon before he was to board an Air India flight for Mumbai.
As the phone was proscribed in India and he was in sensitive areas of Kutch with a group of tourists for some time, he was immediately detained for further interrogation.
The phone was switched off when it was recovered.
Police was now investigating as to which places exactly he visited and did he ever used the satellite phone and for what purpose.
