BSF clerk who posted videos on social media against officers dismissed from service

Bhuj:

The Border Security Force (BSF) clerk (of head constable rank), Navratna Choudhari, who had posted videos on social media last year alleging corruption among officers, has been dismissed from service.

A DIG rank officer of the BSF here today confirmed it,

He said that Chaudhari (in his late 30s), who was posted at Gandhidham in Gujarat in clerical capacity had posted several videos on the social media making allegations that the officers of the force were involved in corruption and illegal selling of liquor, the quality of food given to awans was poor and the officers force them to do household chores.

An inquiry was ordered in to it and Chaudhari, was asked to substantiate his claims but he never returned from leave on which he had proceeded after the videos went viral. He did not turn up for inquiry despite repeated messages and sending of messengers to his native in BIkaner of Rajasthan where he was living after proceeding on leave, the officer said.

‘He also said that he has nothing else to say, he had said what he had to say. He was later dismissed as per rules of the force for sheer indiscipline,’ the officer said adding that Chaudhari could not substantiate his allegations.

‘He was not a jawan posted on the outpost but was in ministerial capacity working as clerk. He was seemingly not quite aware of the actual situation of the jawans,’ the officer said.

Notably, the videos posted by Chaudhari came close on the heels of those posted by Tejbahadur Yadav, another BSF jawan in Jammu, whose video showed jawans being served sub-standard food. He was also dismissed after an inquiry last year.

Choudhari had apart from others posted video of people at a BSF camp with bags, which he claimed contained liquor to be sold outside the campus. Another video showed a jawan washing a car, allegedly being forced to do so by superior officers.

The videos posted by Choudhari like those by Yadav had compelled senior officer to come out with clarifications.

The officer said that Chaudhari was given full chance for explanation but he failed after which he was dismissed with immediate effect.
