Farmer attacked and injured by leopard in village close to Gir forests, fights and forces the beast to flee

A 45 year old farmer was injured by a leopard in Kalsari village under Visavadar Taluka of Junagadh district in Gujarat.
A forest official said that Jaisukh F Damasia (44), native of Kalsari was on his way to his farm in the wee hours when the beast attacked him on Manadiya road.
Jaisukhbhai was on his motorcycle with wife and saw the beast suddenly appearing on the road in the area known for large number of leopards in nearby Gir forests.
He stopped his bike to let the beast go but it instead of crossing the road just jumped on him. The farmer despite getting injured resisted and retaliated forcing the leopard flee the scene.
He was admitted a hospital with injury marks over face and back.
