Bhavnagar hottest for 3rd day in a row with 44°C , 4 places see temperatures at or above 43°C

Ahmedabad:

Bhavnagar continued to remain the hottest place in Gujarat for the third consecutive day today with maximum temperature at 44 °C just below yesterday’s highest of 44.1 °C .

In all at least 10 places saw mercury touching or crossing 41 °C and Surendranagar seeing second highest temperature at 43.4 °C .

Ahmedabad along with Rajkot remained third hottest today with joint maximum of 43 °C .
Maximum Temperature in Ahmedabad was 1.8 °C above normal.

Met department reiterated that the high temperatures were caused by the strong radiation owing to cloud-less skies but still there was no heat-wave owing to the fact that there was moisture in the atmosphere owing to Southwesterly and Westerly wind pattern.

The maximum relative humidity in Ahmedabad today was 74% which during afternoon came down to 13%. In coastal areas the humidity as usual was higher.

The met bulletin today has said that there won’t be any large change in maximum temperatures in next two to three days.
