Mohammed Arif, ex-hubby of Ahmedabad based RJ nabbed for stalking and posting obscene material about her

Ahmedabad:

The cyber cell of the crime branch of Ahmedabad Police has nabbed Mohammed Arif, the ex-husband of a well-known radio jockey in the city, for stalking her and sending obscene emails and making them and other such materials about her viral on social media.

PI of the cyber cell JS Gedam today said that Arif has been booked under section 354 (D) of the IPC (stalking) and 67 of the IT Act (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form).

Gedam said that he was arrested yesterday on a complaint by his ex-wife.

Notably, Arif had a love marriage with RJ Archana Jani (37) around 5 years ago and they separated last year. Arif was earlier arrested in September last year by Shahibaug police on the RJ’s complaint of physical assault by him at her parent’s place. He was later released on bail. Archana is a resident of Bopal.

Gedam said that mobile phone and laptop of Arif has also been seized for investigation. He had allegedly sent indecent emails to some close relatives of the RJ and also made them viral through whatsapp, facebook and other social media platforms and had also posted the link of private blog on facebook.

Gedam said that if proved guilty, the culpirt could be punished with 7 years of jail term.
