Child sodomized in mosque in Surat; accused booked under POCSO

Surat: Complaint has been filed in Amroli police station here against one Abid Ibrahim(18) for sodomizing a 9-year old child atop mosque. Abid has been booked under IPC section 377, POCSO act section 4 and 6.

According to complaint filed by a resident of Kosad area, a complainant had visited the mosque for namaz at 9 pm with his 9-year child in Kosad area. Due to Ramzan, the mosque witnesses heavy rush of Muslims. An arrangement has therefore made that elders would offer namaz on the ground floor, youths would offer namaz on the first floor and children would use the second floor. Accordingly, complainant had sent his 9-year old child to second floor.

The child, after namaz session told his grand mother about what happened to him during namaz session. He said at 9.30 pm, Abid Ibrahim, a notorious person who lives in Kosad Aavas dragged him from namaz and sodomized him on the third floor of mosque.

Abid is untraced after the incident. Inspector CR Desai is investigating the case.
