Incidents of religious tension in Vadodara and Surat rural

Surat: Local police had to fire a round in the air to control the mobs of Muslims in Dinod village of Mangrol belt in South Gujarat. Muslim mobs angry with a social media remark that hurt their religious sentiments, gathered outside a particular industrial unit, worker of which had made the remark. At least four police men were injured in heavy stone pelting by mobs of Muslims.

In another incident, a procession marking birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap, organized by Karni Sena witnessed stone pelting when procession was passing through the Muslim populated Dudhwala Mohalla in Nyaymandir area. Police lobbed two teargas shells to control the mobs. Some vehicles parked nearby were damaged in heavy stone pelting.

Situation at both places is in control.
