Muslim mob storm a company in Dinod village, thrashes two; police fire a round in air

Surat: Kosamba police had to fire a round in air to control an angry mob of Muslims on Saturday evening.

One Ramgopal Karansinh works in Surat Vankar Sangh unit in Dinod village of Kosamba police station limit. Ramgopal had allegedly made a video viral in whatsapp group. The video allegedly was containing derogatory remark against Prophet Muhammad. As this news spread among Muslims in this area, around 700-800 Muslims of nearby villages gathered and arrived at Vankar Sangh company. Citing trouble, the manager of the company asked Ramgopal to hide somewhere and told the mob that Ramgopal had fled from the company premises. The mob was seeking company to produce Ramgopal at any cost so that they could take revenge for hurting their religious sentiments. Soon Kosamba police team arrived. The Muslims however were adamant and they also attacked police. At least four police men were injured in this incident. The crowd could not be controlled even after firing in air by police. The mob of Muslims thrashed company manager Rangrej and Ramgopal inside the company premises.
