RTO drive against fancy noisy modified silencers of bikes in Surat

Surat: RTO in Surat has issued notices to dealers over noisy silencers fitted in bikes. Dealers who have not produced trade certificates have attracted notices.

RTO in Surat has this week seized two bikes with noisy silencers. Owners of both bikes told RTO officials that they had made change in the bikes without passing(RTO approval) through dealers. The owners of bikes were served memos.

It has come to notice that dealers charge Rs 2500 to 12,500 additionally for fitment of fancy – noisy silencers in bikes.

According to RTO officer Parth Joshi, the drive against speeding bikes with loud noise will continue for a week especially in Gauravpath area where bikers gather in groups and do stunt and speed biking.
