Trio Hardik, Jingnesh, Alpesh sit on dharna at SP office in Gandhinagar over trespassing complaint

Gandhinagar:

The ‘trio’ of Congress backed PAAS leader Hardik Patel, Congress supported independent MLA from Vadgam Jignesh Mevani and party MLA from Radhanpur Alpesh Thakor, who have been named in a case of trespassing and related offense in sector 21 police station here, today created a ‘scene of sort’ in front of police superintendent office here.

A woman has filed the complaint against the trio alleging that during the so-called ‘Janta raid’ against alleged illicit liquor business here. the woman alleged trio entered her premises in unauthorized manner (without seeking prior permission) and they themselves had brought pouches of liquors to wrongly prove that she was in to its business. MoS Home Pradipsinh Jadeja said that the SP Gandhinagar was investigating the matter as to what was the truth.

Meanwhile, in to a pressure tactics of sort and also seemingly publicity stunt, the Congress trio arrived at the Superintendent of Police office here this evening with supporters and started shouting slogans and also sat on Dharna there.

They left the place after the said assurance by the SP.

The trio alleged that the state government was falsely implicating them in the case. They said that the government was not interested in taking action against bootleggers but was trying to frame them falsely when they have started a campaign against the illicit liquor trade which has so far claimed many lives in the state.

Several Congress MLAs including Dhavalsinh Zala who is supporter of Alpesh Thakor, Kirit Patel who is supporter of Hardik Patel among others were present during dharna. Later leader of opposition Paresh Dhanani too joined them. As all Gujarati news channels were giving this event live coverage, the trio finished dharna agitation after a speech at prime-time.
