Gujarat to host 2-day ‘Sahakar SETU 2018’ – National Umbrella Summit of the urban co-operative banking sector

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Urban Co-operative Banks Federation (GUCBF) is gearing up to host Sahakar SETU 2018, the quadrennial Conference and Exhibition of co-operative banking sector in Ahmedabad on Aug 4 and Aug 5, 2018. Representatives of over 200 Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) will be attending the two day event that encompasses seminars, panel discussions and exhibitions. This year the event revolves around the themes ‘Strengthening UCBs’ and ‘Let’s Grow Together under One Umbrella’ and will focus on a holistic understanding of the latest developments, strategic alliances, consolidation of sector, and technology upgradation along with functioning of Umbrella Organization and recognition of various achievements of urban co-operative banks (UCBs).

While Shri N. Vishwanathan, Deputy Governor of RBI will be the guest of honor on the opening day of the summit, the distinguished guests list includes Shri Sundeep Kumar Nayak (IAS, MD-NCDC), Shri J K Dash (RD, RBI, Gujarat Region), Shri H K Patil (MLA, Karnataka), and Shri Ajay Patel (Chairman, GSC Bank). The award felicitation ceremony in the later part of the day will witness the distinguished presence of Shri Chandra Pal Singh Yadav (President, NSUI) and Shri R B Shandilya (Vice President, NAFCUB).

Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijaybhai Rupani will be the guest of honour on Day 2 along with Shri Nitinbhai Patel, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat. Recognizing the achievements of the year will be dignitaries Shri Purushottam Rupala, Agriculture Minister Central Government and Shri Ishwarsinh Patel, Cooperation Minister Gujarat.

Giving details of the summit, Shri Jyotindra M. Mehta, Chairman of Gujarat Urban Co-operative Banks Federation said, “In our endeavor to continually educate, guide and encourage members of UCBs, and to help them upgrade technology, create innovative business models and benchmark service standards, we have been organizing ‘Sahakar SETU’ since 2010. This year, ‘Sahakar SETU’ brings the UCB members together to discuss the formation and functioning of The Umbrella Organization and to draw a roadmap for the future.”
