LoP Paresh Dhanani on Dharna in Gandhidham

LoP and senior Congress MLA in Gujarat Paresh Dhanai today sat on dharna here to protest against the incident of alleged arson in a groundnut go-down in January this year.

Dhanani who had earlier organized a fast in Gondal town in Rajkot distrcit for similar reason protesting fire in a groundnut go-down there, today claimed that the fire in groundnut godowns here and other places in Gujarat and the recent incident of finding soil mixed groundnut procured at MSP and kept in a go-down in Pedhla village of Jetpur in Rajkot district were part of a major scam.

‘Even today the state government is not allowing us to check various go-downs where the soil mixed groundnut is kept in sacks,’ he said.

He said that the arrest of over 20 people in connection with Pedhla incident was an eyewash. ‘All those nabbed were just small fry and the crocodiles (the actual culprits) were still moving freely,’ he said adding that the agitation of his party would continue till the original culprits were booked.
