Heroin worth 10 to 15 crore seized in Coastal Gujarat, Fisherman Aziz and Sumra nabbed

Dwarka:

The Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Gujarat police along with local police today arrested a man in a village in Devbhoomi-Dwarka district of Gujarat and recovered large quantity of Heroin worth around Rs 10 to 15 crore.

Later the ATS reportedly also arrested another man identified as one Arif Sumra and was in search of another man. All the 3 had reportedly smuggled around 100 kg Heroin worth around 200 to 300 kg from Pakistan around 4 months ago via sea route and Mandvi coast.

The ATS is trying to nab the third man also who had allegedly supplied sold most of the Heroin in Northern Indian states. The seized 5 kg Heroin was a small part of it.

PSI of Salaya police station P A Jadeja had earlier said that based on a tip off Aziz Bhagadh (40), a fisherman was caught from Sodsala village. He himself is a native of Salaya.

Five bags containing as many kilograms of suspected heroin were recovered from him.
Team of FSL testing it and found it to be pure heroin, the PSI added. He had said that the man caught with the suspected heroin was a small fry and seemingly only a carrier of the drug. There likely to be some big racket behind it. The likelihood of it being a smuggled item from neighboring countries via sea can’t be ruled out.

Later it turned out to be true. Jadeja said that Aziz was again taken away by the ATS team for further inquiry and investigation.

The matter is under detailed investigation.
