PSI alleges SP Amreli of beating him up, gets hospitalized

In a bizarre incident, a PSI of city police station here got himself hospitalized and alleged that the Amreli SP Nirlipt Rai, has beaten him up.

PSI N G Goswami told newsman on the bed of a hospital here that he was beaten up by the SP who was allegedly angry at him for non-acceptance of his remand by a local court.

Meanwhile, the SP himself denied the allegations.

Notably, the earlier SP of Amreli Jagdish Patel was arrested in connection of Bitcoin case. Other police officials of LCB were including PI Anant Patel were also arrested. This has given enough bad name to the Amreli police.

Now the latest incident has again raised various doubts. One police personnel expressed doubt about the PSI allegations saying it might have some connection with the ongoing resentment among the corrupt police officials against the strict steps being taken by Rai.
