August 29, 2018
Gandhinagar: In a major decision, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today made announcement to handover the posts of Chairman of urban area development authorities to related municipal commissioners. At present, the post of chairman is largely occupied by related district collectors.
Relieving district collectors from this responsibility will give them more time for revenue related matters and implementation of state government’s other public oriented services including Seva Setu, said the statement issued by the government.
With this decision AUDA(Ahmedabad), VUDA(Vadodara), SUDA(Surat), RUDA(Rajkot), JADA(Jamnagar), BADA(Bhavnagar), JUDA(Jungadh) and GUDA(Gandhinagar) will be chaired by municipal commissioners of related cities.
