Gujarat CM declares Kutch as scarcity affected district with implementation from 1st October

Bhuj: After holding three-hour meetings at district headquarters Bhuj in arid border district Kutch, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani declared entire district as a scarcity affected with implementation from October 1st. Besides this, in the entire state every tehsils which has received less than 125 mm of rainfall were also declared scarcity affected areas with effect from October 1st.
The Chief Minister was in Bhuj to hold review meeting with local administration and leaders including opposition leaders over scarcity situation.
The Chief Minister further stated that as per the government’s rules and norms the subsidies would be given to Gau-Shalas and Panjara-Poles on war-footings and new Panjara-poles would be opened-up in the affected areas. He also announced drinking water pipeline projects worth of Rs. 296-Cr for Kutch district.
The review meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary Dr. J. N. Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. K. Kailashnathan, district in-charge secretary Mr. J. P. Gupta, Kutch District Collector Mr. Remya Mohan, and others.
Those spoke on the occasion included Minister of State Mr. Vasanbhai Ahir, Member of Parliament (Kutch – Morbi) Mr. Vinodbhai Chavda, MLA (Bhuj) Dr. Nimaben Acharya, MLA (Mandvi – Mundra) Mr. Virendrasinh Jadeja, MLP (Abdasa) Mr. Pradhyumansinh Jadeja, and others.
