Surendrangar: After an apparent political drama, 3 Congress MLAs from Surendranagar district were arrested by police today.
They had issued ultimatum to take Jal-Samadhi (drown self) in a canal linked with Dholidaja dam alleging that the state government was not releasing water for irrigation in the canals in the district.
Somabhai Patel, Parshottam Makwana and Rutwik Makwana were arrested by police. A rally was also organized from APMC to collector office.
The MLAs had given ultimatum regarding Jal-Samadhi a few days ago putting deadline of October 7 for release of water in the canals.
