October 09, 2018
Ahmedabad: Congress party today demanded imposition of president rule in Gujarat in the wake of attacks on non-Gujarati community in the state and exodus of such people.
Party spokesperson and former MLA Shaktisinh Gohil, who is also the in-charge of party affairs in Bihar one of the states where a large number of people mostly workers have returned in the wake of the incidents, said that BJP was alleging Congress to be behind the attacks but it should answer that why its government failed to maintain law and order situation.
‘What the Intelligence bureau was doing and why the BJP government in the state failed to tackle the situation or stop the attacks and exodus of the people. It had never happened in the past in Gujarat and the government has failed. The other thing is that Gujarat was also the home state of PM Narendrabhai Modi and he himself has been elected from UP. Even then the BJP government led by Vijay Rupani has not been able to maintain the law and order in the state. I demand that for its utter failure it should be dismissed immediately and president rule must be imposed in Gujarat,’ he said over phone.
