Hardik demands for survey of Patidar community in Gujarat on the lines of the one regarding Marathas in neighbouring Maharashtra
November 16, 2018
Ahmedabad: Congress backed PAAS leader Hardik Patel today said that survey for social and economic condition of Patidar community should be conducted in Gujarat as done for Maratha community in neighbouring Maharashtra before announcement regarding quota to them.
Hardik said that if Maharashtra government could do such survey and announce quota for Maratha community why the same could not be done in Gujarat for Patidars when the BJP was ruling party in both the states.
He said that the Gujarat government should first start the survey to ascertain the social and economic condition of Patidars in the state. It should take a call on quota after that.
Hardik, who has now become an open supporter of Congress, said that he would intensify his agitation if the Gujarat government did not take the steps for start of the survey soon.
