Plan approvals through ODPS mandatory after January 15 in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Government of Gujarat has in its communication to municipal commissioners and chairmen of urban development authorities issued instruction that development plans for constructions must be approved only through online system from January 15th onward.

Principal Secretary of Urban development department, Government of Gujarat has in a letter informed that offline mode of plan approval must end on January 15th. All applications with effect from 15th January 2019 must be accepted through online mode via ODPS system. Applications must be cleared in ten days in time-bound manner. Nodal officers will need to complete the procedure of approval of plans in consultation with city planner and check whether maps approved by scrutiny engine are fine.

It should be mentioned here that in order to prevent corruption in plan approval procedure, the State government had launched ODPS system of online approval. However, due to technical issues related to wrong reading and software glitches, the government had restored offline plan approval for three-month period. The government has now conveyed that it is not going to extend this grace period beyond three months.
