Five of a family including 80 year old woman and 2 children commit suicide in Jamnagar

Jamnagar: In a tragic incident on the New year day, five members of a family including an 80 year old ailing woman and two children were found dead in their residence in Kisan Chowk area in Jamnagar district in Gujarat which in fact was a case of suicide through consumption of poison due to financial difficulties.
Police said that Dipak Pannalal Sakariya (40), his wife Artiben (37), daughter Kumkum (10), son Hemant (5) and mother Jayaben (80) had all found dead due to consumption of a poisonous liquid.
Prima facie it seems that they had committed suicide due to financial difficulties. The family, which use to sell Chaulafali (a kind of snacks item), had to spend much more than its earnings on the treatment of Jayaben and other expenses. Though no suicide not has been found so far yet on the basis of the accounts given by the neighbours, some of the relatives and the only survivor in the family Pannalal it seems that the young couple had committed suicide after giving poison to the children and the old woman due to financial difficulties.
All the five were sleeping on the upper floor of the house while Pannalal was on the ground floor. He become suspicious when till late no body came down.
Police was investigating the matter.
