AMC clerk nabbed taking bribe for issue of professional tax certificate

Ahmedabad:The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today nabbed red handed a clerk of Ahmedabad Muncipal Corporation (AMC) from the west zone office of the corporation in Bodakdev area of the city taking bribe of Rs 11,500/-.
Assistant Director of ACB Gambhirsinh Padheriya said that Junior clerk Paresh M Patel had sought the bribe from a businessman for issuance of the professional tax certificate under the Gumasta Dhara (Shop and Establishment Act).
Based on a secret complaint by the businessmen a trap was laid by the ACB and the clerk was nabbed.
