June 03, 2019
Ahmedabad: Police today said that no FIR has been lodged in connection with the incident of alleged beating of a woman by BJP MLA from Naroda Balram Thwani.
A police officer of Meghaninagar police station said that written complaints were submitted by both the sides but as a compromise has been reached, no FIR has been lodged.
Notably, Thawani had allegedly beaten up a local NCP activist Nitu when she was reportedly participating in a protest over water issue.
Its video had gone viral yesterday. Later Thawani went to Nitu and apologized. She tied Rakhi on his wrist. Nitu like the MLA also belonged to Sindhi community which was in dominating proportion in Naroda Assembly constituency of Ahmedabad.
Ruling BJP has however sought explanation from Thawani in 3 days.
