Heavy rain likely in North and Central Gujarat on Monday

Gandhinagar: Light to moderate pre-monsoon rain took places at isolated places in Gujarat today even as the met department has issued heavy rains at some places in North and central Guajrat tomorrow.

The met bulletin today said that rain was very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely, Narmada, Panchmahal, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Dahod and Chhota Udepur tomorrow. It has not issued any further warning for coming days even as the arrival of monsoon in parts of Gujarat in a day or two under the influence of a low pressure area in bay of Bengal was also likely.

Today areas in and around Malpur in Aravalli district, Limdi in Dahod and Nakhatrana in Kutch saw light to moderate rain.

In the met bulletin today the synoptic situation has been described as –
THE TROUGH AT MEAN SEA LEVEL FROM WEST RAJASTHAN TO EASTCENTRAL BAY OF BENGAL ACROSS MADHYA PRADESH, CHHATTISGARH AND ODISHA PERSISTS AND EXTENDS UPTO 0.9 KM ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL.

The bulletin has also said that no large change in the moderate temperatures across Gujarat was likely in next 2 to 3 days.

The general rain activity prediction in the bulletin is as follows-

DAY 2: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 24/06//2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 25/06/2019):-
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at many in all the districts of Gujarat region and in Daman Dadra Nagar Haveli.; at a few places in the districts of Saurashtra namely Bhavnagar, Amreli, Gir Somnath, Rajkot and in Diu. Dry weather very likely in Kutch district and remaining districts of Saurashtra.

DAY-3: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 25/06/2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 26/06/2019):-
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at many in all the districts of Gujarat region and in Daman Dadra Nagar Haveli.; at a few places in the districts of Saurashtra namely Bhavnagar, Amreli, Gir Somnath, Rajkot and in Diu. Dry weather very likely in Kutch district and remaining districts of Saurashtra.

DAY-4: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 26/06/2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 27/06/2019):
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Bharuch, Surat, Valsad, Navsari, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Junagadh, Amreli, Gir Somnath, Kutch and in Diu. Dry weather very likely in remaining districts of Gujarat region and Saurashtra.

DAY-5: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 27/06/2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 28/06/2019):-

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at a few places in all the districts of Gujarat region and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Rajkot, Kutch and in Diu. Dry weather very likely in remaining districts of Saurashtra.
