Three systems over or around Gujarat, moderate to heavy rain at several places including Vadodara and Bhuj city

Gandhinagar: Moderate to heavy rain at several places in Gujarat including Vadodara city continued and Bhuj today as predicted by the met department and from 6 am to 6 pm, a total of 150 talukas of 30 districts had seen some amount of rain with highest 91 mm in Harij of Patan district.

Among other prominent rain receiving talukas today were Ghogha 72 mm, Bhachau 63, Upleta 60, Vadodara city 52mm, Shahera 51 mm, Sami 51 mm, Bhuj 49, Dhrangadhra 45, Becharaji 44 and Manavadar 42 mm. Detroj in Ahmedabad district has also seen 38 mm or rain.

In all 27 talukas had seen 25 mm or more of rain till 6 pm today even as in the last 24 hours ending 6 am today 187 talukas of 30 districts had seen rain with Chhota Udepur seeing maximum 182 mm. Jetpur Pavi 162 mm, Quant and Halol 159 mm each, Vijapur 115 mm, Mahesana 106 mm, Mansa 98 mm, Talod 96 mm and Anand 93 mm.

There are three atmospheric systems over or around Gujarat and met has predicted heavy rain in parts of the state tomorrow as well. However no further rainfall related warning has been issued as of today evening.

The detailed synoptic situation and rainfall warning as per the met bulletin today is as following –

*THE MONSOON TROUGH AT MEAN SEA LEVEL NOW PASSES THROUGH JAISALMER, CHITTORGARH, GUNA, SIDHI, DALTONGANJ, PURULIA, DIGHA AND THENCE SOUTHEASTWARDS TO EASTCENTRAL BAY OF BENGAL AND EXTENDS UPTO 2.1 KM ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL.

*THE EAST­WEST SHEAR ZONE ROUGHLY ALONG LAT. 22°N ACROSS CENTRAL INDIA BETWEEN 3.1 and 5.8 KM ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL PERSISTS AND TILTS SOUTHWARDS WITH HEIGHT.

*THE CYCLONIC CIRCULATION OVER SAURASHTRA & NEIGHBOURHOOD AT 5.8 KM ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL PERSISTS.
