50 including the operator of a social club based gambling racket nabbed in central Gujarat

Vadodara: 50 people including the operator of a gambling racket, Anawar Ghulam Hussain Sindhi, have been arrested by the crime branch of Vadodara police from Nagarwada area in the city.

Police today said that the raid was conducted last night on Ruby Gymkhana, a social club where the gambling den was being operated.

Among those nabbed were gamblers from Ahmedabad, Kheda, Anand and Panchmahal districts also.

Cash and other items including 43 mobile phones, 16 two wheeler, 4 cars and a three wheeler worth over Rs 40 lakh have been seized from the spot. The cash recovered from the spot was Rs 3.88 lakh.

All of those nabbed have been booked under section 4 and 5 of the Public Gambling Act.
