Khelaiyas eager to enjoy Navratri to the hilt, organize havan-puja to pacify rain-god
September 28, 2019
Bharuch: Khelaiyas (participants in Garba dance of Gujarat during Navratri), eager to enjoy Navratri up to the hilt are doing whatever possible to stop rain from playing spoilsport to the most popular event of the state.
Even as rain has forced many of the organizers to cancel Garba events due to water logging in the grounds and forecast of more spells of heavy rain during the first two days of Navratri beginning tomorrow, a group of people today performed havan to pacify the rain-god.
They performed the havan and puja today at Patel Garba ground, one of the famous garba event spots in the city.
One of the participants said that they want the rain to stop now so that they could enjoy the Navratri which is eagerly awaited in Gujarat.
‘We prayed to the rain god and even if the things came to track after a day, we would be more than happy,’ another one said.
