Fake call center involved in duping US citizens, being operated in a car busted in Gujarat, 2 nabbed

Ahmedabad: A fake call center involved in duping US citizens, being operated from a car in Vejalpur area of the city was busted by police today.

Two youth were also nabbed in this connection.

Police said that based on a tip off a car parked near Desai park society near Vejalpur crossing was raided in the wee hours today. Azhar A Saiyad (32) resident of Khanpur and Vivek Chauhan (33) were nabbed.

Laptop, mobile phone, magic jack etc worth Rs 83 thousand were recovered from the car. They said that they operated the call center from the car to bluff the police.

Notably, police had in the past busted many fake call centers in the city involved in duping US citizens by posing as callers from tax and other departments.
