Surat:The Uttar Pradesh Police is now investigating any possible Gujarat link of the murders of Kamlesh Tiwari (45), the president of Hindu Samaj Party who had in the past raised a controversy by making remarks against Muslim community and its prophet.
Tiwari was hacked and stabbed to death in his office in Khurshidbagh area of Lucknow today by two unknown attackers who had brought a packet of sweetmeats and snacks having with them in which it is suspected that the sharp edged weapon and probably a firearm, used for the murder was hidden.
A police officer here today said that the sweetmeat packet found on the spot was of famous Dharati Farsan shop in Udhna area of Surat city.
‘It indicated that if the packet was brought by the attackers as suspected , there must be some Gujarat connection. We are examining the CCTV footage of the shop, which might give us some clue. The UP police would be provided the information to establish links and identify and nab the culprits who fled after the cold blooded murder,’he said.
Notably, the Gujarat ATS in the past also found link of terror elements with the murderers and plotters of the killing of two other RSS leaders in Bharuch of Gujarat way back in 2015.
