Unhappy over birth of 4th daughter, GRD jawan in Saurashtra commits suicide after throwing 3 girl child in farm-well

Junagadh: In a tragic incident an around 30 year old man and jawan of Gram Raksha Dal (GRD) in Junagadh district of Gujarat today threw his three daughters in a well and killed them and later committed suicide himself.

Police said that GRD jawan Rasik Devabhai Solanki, a native of Khambhalia village in Bhesan taluka was supposedly unhappy over the birth of his fourth daughter. His wife was at her parent’s place where almost a fortnight ago she had given birth to the fourth daughter.

He took three of his daughters Riya (09), Anjali (07) and Jalpa (02) to a farm well this morning and pushed them in to it. He later consumed a poisonous liquid to kill self but when it failed to give the desired result he hanged himself.

He was also living in abject poverty and perhaps willing to be father of a son, police said adding that it was a matter of investigation as to what exactly drove him to do this dastardly act.
