December 20, 2019
Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today rejected the rumours that internet services in the state were soon to be suspended in the wake of the recent violent protests against CAA/NRC in parts of the state including the largest city of Ahmedabad.
MoS home Pradipsinh Jadeja said that there was no truth in the rumors regarding suspension of internet services.
‘It has neither been suspended nor will be,’ he said.
Jadeja said that so far across the state 58 people have been arrested for violent protest.
‘Police will take strict action against those involved in violence and acts that were detrimental to the peace and law and order in the state. All the hooligans and rioters would be identified on the basis of CCTV footage and booked,’ he said.
Jadeja also alleged that Congress had instigated the violence in several areas with the intention of gaining political mileage out of it.
