Stone pelting in Muslim dominated Hathikhana area of Vadodara in Gujarat, ACP rank official sustains minor injury

Vadodara: A day after violent protest against CAA/NRC in Ahmedabad which saw over 20 police personnel injured, incidents of stone pelting by mob in Muslim dominated Hathikhana and Fetupura area in Vadodara city took place today in which an ACP rank officer also sustained minor injury.

PI Karelibag R A Jadeja said that the incident started in Hathikhana area when some minority people objected to videography for security purposes.

ACP H Division Bharat Rathod also sustained minor injury below nose in stone pelting. Today the market area in Hathikhana was crowded due to weekly Shukrawari bazar.

Police also had to resort to lobbing of tear gas shells to control the unruly mob. Some of the vehicles parked on the roadside were also damaged.

Notably, RAF had done foot march in the morning in this area also. Police said that all the rioters would be booked and arrested. Some of them have already been detained.

Rioters were shielded by women and we had to see that local school children also reach home safely therefore we maintained restraint.
