6 former child laborers living in child home in Surat as parents fail to turn up

Surat: As many as 6 children are living in Child Home in Surat as their parents are not appearing to take them back. These six children were caught in child labour cases in last three years.

Spcial Task Force in Surat liberated 185 children in last 3 years from child labour. Of them 6 are still living in Katargam based child home as their parents are not coming to take them to their native places in Rajasthan and Bihar.

Surat based child protection unit keeps writing letters to Rajasthan based local authority but there’s no response. Poverty, migration, lack of documents, fear of procedure etc could be the reasons why parents of these 6 children are not turning up.
